You will hear live presentations by Marlene Steinberg, M.D. and Olivier Piedfort-Marin Ph.D.

This presentation is the ninth in a series of ten webinars to be hosted by ESTD in 2021 and 2022. The series of webinars will address 10 important topics related to the diagnosis of dissociative symptoms and disorders.

There is no fee – the webinar is free for everyone.

Marlene Steinberg, M.D. is an internationally recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic dissociative symptoms and disorders and has presented workshops nationally and worldwide.  She is the developer of The Semi-Structured Clinical Interview for Dissociative Symptoms and Disorders (SCID-D, American Psychiatric Association Press, 2022), considered the diagnostic standard in the field. While on the faculty at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Steinberg was awarded extensive grants from the National Institute of Mental Health. Among her academic and clinical publications is the medical treatise The Handbook for the Assessment of Dissociation. Her popular press book The Stranger in the Mirror: Dissociation, the Hidden Epidemic provides education, hope and comfort for trauma survivors. She has been selected by her peers for inclusion in “Best Doctors of America” for nineteen years. Dr. Steinberg maintains a clinical practice in Naples, Florida.

Olivier Piedfort-Marin Ph.D. is psychologist and licensed psychotherapist in Switzerland, working in private practice in Lausanne, with main interests in the assessment and psychotherapy of anxiety disorders, PTSD, complex PTSD and dissociative disorders, as well as consulting and teaching. After a training in CBT, he has been trained in hypnosis, in EMDR in 2004 and is now EMDR Europe consultant and facilitator. He has an extensive training in the theory of structural dissociation of the personality and in the treatment of DID patients with Ellert Nijenhuis. He has (co-)authored around 25 peer reviewed articles and book chapters in the field. He is co-founder and associate-editor of the European Journal of Trauma and Dissociation, honorary president of the AFTD – Francophone Association of Trauma and Dissociation, and President elect of EMDR Europe.
